I once was lost, but NOW I am found! Thank God for soul-winners!
Everybody's story is pretty much the same. Someone, a preacher, mother, friend, stranger; someone talked to you or gave you a tract which led you to the place where you opened your heart and received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Personal Lord and Savior.
Do you remember your condition before you received Him? Your attitude? Your actions? Your lifestyle? Do you remember? It bears remembering just how messed up we were as we walked in darkness because we are now light and, we now have the responsibility to show others the way.
We need to remember what we were before Jesus saved us so that we are never disgusted as we pass the gang-banger or the homosexual, the criminal or the prostitute, the drug addict or the rebellious, the despondant or the deranged. We should remember that we were once bound by something, and only by the grace of God did a laborer minister to us; only by the grace of God did someone continue to pray for us. You may not be called to the 5-fold ministry, but your life should speak for you. Your joy and your attitude, the way you respond and handle situations should speak of your changed life in Christ.
We never deserved salvation, we still do not deserve it. The wonders of His grace have given us new life through our faith in His name. Shouldn't we let His grace flow through us towards others? Shouldn't we "check" our attitude? Shouldn't we reach out to the lost?
We were not saved just to be saved, we were saved for fellowship with God, to tell the world of His great love and to be used in His service toward others. You may not be called to the 5-fold ministry, but your life should speak for you. Your joy and your attitude, the way you respond and handle situations should speak of your changed life in Christ.
No one has to go to Hell. Going to Hell is personal choice. " This day, I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing ; therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed might live! Deuteronomy 30:19. God is saying that you must choose. He cannot choose for any of us, each of us has to make a decision....no one can do it for us.
We have it backward, we think good works and "living right" keeps us from Hell but that is wrong. "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourself. It is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9. Faith alone in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will save you. Believe me, nothing else can do it.
